Salto do Iporanga
The hydroelectric power plant of Iporanga is located in the municipality of Juquiá, some 200 kilometers from the city of São Paulo. Its construction was initiated in 1985 and the conclusion was achieved in 1989, the year in which it also commenced operating. It is the only enterprise of this type which takes advantage of the energy potential of the River Assungui, which flows into the right margin of the River Juquiá-Guaçu, down-stream from Serraria, the location of the last of a series of six power plants constructed by CBA along the margins of this river.
Its average annual capacity of generation is of 235 GWh and its dam has 230 meters of length and 77 meters of height, from the lowest point of the foundation.
It operates with a turbine manufactured by Voith and a generator produced by Brown Boveri.
