Porto Raso
The hydroelectric power plant of Porto Raso is located in the municipality of Tapiraí, some 135 kilometers from the city of São Paulo. Its construction was initiated in 1978 and ended in 1982. It is the fifth in a series of six hydroelectric power plants built by CBA along the River Juquiá-Guaçu for energy generation, for the industrial processes of aluminum.
It commenced operating with a capacity of an average annual 170 GWh. Its dam is of 137.5 meters of length and a height of 40 meters, from the lowest point of the foundation.
The Porto Raso power plant operates with a turbine produced by Voith and a generator manufactured by GE.
