Machadinho
The hydroelectric power plant of
Machadinho, deployed on the River Pelotas, is located
between the municipalities of Maximiliano de Almeida,
RS, and Piratuba, SC. Its construction was initiated
in 1997, and, in 2002, started the provision of commercial
energy.
Its reservoir occupies an area of 79 Km². The total installed capacity of Machadinho is 1,140 MW, of which 275 MW are for CBA. The energy guaranteed annually for CBA is of 1,000,000 MWh.
The power plant operates with three turbine generator groups.
