Campos Novos

Campos Novos hydroelectric power plant is under construction in Canoas river, among the municipalities of Campos Novos, Celso Ramos, Anita Garibaldi and Adbon Batista, in Santa Catarina state. The works were started in August 2001 and the operation of its first unit is scheduled for 2007.

It has been built by a consortium between CBA and other companies, among them, Companhia Níquel Tocantins, also part of Grupo Votorantim. CBA hold a 24.7% participation in this consortium.

Its dam will be 201 m high and 590 m long. Its installed capacity will be of 880 MW and the assured energy to CBA is of 818 thousand MWh/year.
